Geoff Johns
Il figlio di Flash
Geoff Johns è uno scrittore di fumetti Americano, famoso soprattutto grazie alla DC Comics e il suo lavoro su personaggi come Flash, Superman e Lanterna Verde.
Ha anche scritto alcuni episodi della serie televisiva Smallville, ha partecipato al film Man of Steel ed è un co-proprietario di una “fumetteria” chiamata Earth-2 Comics in California.
E’ nato nel 1973 a Detroit, come molti di noi si avvicinò al fumetto grazie ad una scatola di fumetti rinvenuta in una soffitta, così scoprì Flash, Batman e Superman nei fumetti anni ’60, ben presto divenne un appassionato e Flash il suo eroe preferito.
Si trasferì a Los Angeles dove divenne assistente di Richard Donner (regista americano, scrittore di fumetti e produttore cinematografico), si avvicinò al mondo dei fumetti li dove li aveva conosciuti, alla DC Comics. Conobbe David Goyer e James Robinson che stavano lavorando alla testata di JSA che gli proposero di lavorare con loro. Nel 2000 divenne lo scrittore di della serie regolare di Flash realizzando il suo segno.
Lavorò anche alla Marvel per un breve periodo ma tornò alla DC per realizzare il rilancio di Hawkman e del tp Teen Titans nel 2003.
Hal Jordan deve il suo ritorno proprio a Johns che seguì anche la testata regolare di Lanterna Verde dopo Lanterna Verde: Rinascita, lavorò anche su Crisi Infinita e successivamente, insieme a Mark Waid, Grant Morrison, e Greg Rucka, al settimanale 52.
Ha lavorato su Superman con saghe come Superman: Origini Segrete, su Batman con Batman: Anno Uno e, naturalmente, ha fatto tornare il grande Barry Allen con Flash: Rinascita.
Si è anche occupato della serie Flashpoint, nuovo punto di partenza DC con protagonista Flash (ovviamente), tutte le serie sono ripartite dal numero 1 e Johns si è occupato di un nuovo rilancio della Jusctice League, Shazam e Aquaman oltre a Lanterna Verde che, dopo 9 anni, verrà abbandonata dallo scrittore americano nel 2013.
Johns si dedicherà nuovamente a Superman insieme a Romita Jr. nel 2014.
