    Vincent Deighan, noto con lo pseudonimo di “Frank Quitely”, è un disegnatore di comics nato in Scozzia nel 1968, reso famoso dalle sue collaborazioni con il grande autore Grant Morrison e con Mark Millar.
    Il suo primo vero lavoro è Electric Soup nel 1990, successivamente si occupa di realizzare e disegnare The Greens, Judge Dredd Megazine si accorge della sua bravura e lo fa lavorare su Shimura di Robbie Morrison e su Missionary Man di Gordon Rennie.
    Le sue opere negli anni 90 si susseguono e la sua popolarità aumenta ma raggiunge il culmine nel 1996 con Flex Mentallo, albo che rappresenta una vera svolta per il disegnatore canadese poiché è qui che cominciano le sue fruttuose collaborazioni con Grant Morrison, autore di Flex Mentallo.
    I suoi lavori per la DC Comics si moltiplicano, si occupa di Batman, della JSA, Lobo e arriva anche a disegnare The Sandman: Notti Eterne di Neil Gaiman oltre a collaborazioni con Millar ed essersi occupato dei New X-Men per la Marvel Comics, non poteva di certo lasciare da solo Morrison (che si occupa della sceneggiatura di questi fumetti).
    La sua produttività non si è mai fermata passando da opere del calibro di All-Star Superman (nemmeno a dirlo a opera di Morrison), più i primi tre numeri di Batman e Robin (autore: come sopra).
    Tutte le sue opere hanno avuto peso nel mondo fumettistico ma è indispensabile citare la sua variant cover del numero #100 di The Walking Dead e alla realizzazione di molti numeri di Jupiter's Legacy di Mark Millar.
    Un disegnatore eclettico quindi, ha disegnato molto e molte cose diverse ma sempre ottenendo risultati ottimi ma sempre lavorando con autori di calibro elevatissimo che hanno dimostrato di aver bisogno della sua matita che sembrerebbe riuscire a rappresentare in maniera stupenda personaggi e storie nati da menti da capacità narrative eccelse.
