Boleslav Felix Robert "Bill" Sienkiewicz, nato nel 1958, è un noto fumettista statunitense, dal tratto immediatamente riconoscibile, famoso soprattutto per la sua opera della Marvel Comics: Elektra: Assassin (1986).
Le sue opere non sono conosciute solo per la grandiosità delle tavole, ma soprattutto per la grande abilità nella creazione di meravigliose cover. Ha sicuramente subito l’influenza di altri grandi artisti del nostro tempo come Dave McKean, Alex Ross e soprattutto Christopher Moeller.
Il suo stile è unico per la tecnica che utilizza, simil-pittorico realistico, indubbiamente di grande abilità e talento, da subito ricorda Neal Adams nei suoi primi lavori nei Fantastici Quattro, prima di rivoluzionare completamente Moon Knight.
Ha inoltre collaborato con grandissimi artisti come Chris Claremont, al progetto New Mutants, e con Frank Miller sull’opera di Elektra citata a inizio guida.
In seguito le sue opere aumentano di spessore e numero, passando per la DC Comics, ricordando tra tutte (almeno per me) Legacy - Il testamento di Hal Jordan e ricostruendo da zero Il Corpo delle Lanterne Verdi, entrambi con Joe Kelly.
Nella sua carriera ha vinto numerosi premi, anche se ovviamente in questo lavoro vincere un premio non è indice di indiscussa abilità, lui è oggettivamente un artista dal talento invidiabile, degno di trovarsi in vetta tra i grandi disegnatori del nostro tempo.
